Ivory Towers

About: The latest project from Widernet (Christian Connection), an Internet dating site aimed at graduates.

Fingermouse Internet is responsible for the entire graphic look of the site, which was given a complete overhaul at the end of 2003. The new version of the site went live in January 2004. Although much of the background code is based on earlier work from various developers, Fingermouse has extensively rewritten large areas of the site and developed additional features and modifications using PHP/MySQL. Most recently Fingermouse redeveloped the entire automated emailing and archiving system.

The site has been featured in the Guardian, Independent, Internet Works (Read a summary of the Internet Works article here) and various other print and broadcast media.

The layout and function is based on a series of PHP modules developed by Fingermouse.

The site also offers secure online ordering for tickets, seminar tapes and merchandise. Things are still very much in development, and the ultimate aim is to have a completely integrated site with central admin system for both text and shop elements.

The site features a CGI-based news system and series of calendar scripts written from scratch in PHP and using a flat-file database.
